Senior Quantity Surveyor

Full-Time, permanent (London)

£65,000 – £80,000 per annum plus car allowance

We’re currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team. This position will be based from our London office, with travel to sites in and around London.

The position:

  • Working with the project and sector managers to ensure projects exceed its commercial targets
  • Contribute to regular and accurate reporting to senior management, including PHRs, CVRs, Cash Flow etc
  • Control the project budget and determine regular commercial forecasts
  • Carry out valuations for the purpose of payment applications
  • Manage sub-contractor accounts in line with the agreed subcontracts and to align with any upstream contractual requirements
  • Identify, notify and value changes (variations, compensation events and claims
  • Ensure the companies contractual obligations are met, not least regarding the times for giving notices and making applications
  • Support any tender processes and company strategy as required
  • Liaise with the procurement team as necessary for the engagement of subcontractors

What we’re looking for:

  • Knowledge of standard engineering and/or construction contracts
  • Degree qualifies in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent
  • Hold a valid CSCS card
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Build and develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor

Junior Administrator

Full-Time, 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (Rainham)

£18,000- £20,000 per annum.

We are currently recruiting for a Junior Administrator, to join our team in Rainham, on a 12 month fixed term contract basis. Reporting directly into the Sector Manager, this position is an essential part of the team, providing administration support to the project team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collate new starter packs, monitor holidays and sickness and liaise with HR
  • Filing and archiving of various paperwork
  • Processing and updating timesheets for employees
  • Prepare and produce documents such as letters, memos and e-mails

What we’re looking for:

  • Competent user of MS packages, such as Word, Excel, Power point
  • Educated to GCSE level, or equivalent with A-C grades in English and Maths
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise at all levels
  • Previous experience within a similar position

Electrician – TBM experience

Full-Time, Permanent (London)

£278-338 per day

We are currently recruiting for a number of Electricians with tunnelling experience for one of London’s largest ever infrastructure and tunnelling projects.

As an Electrician you will be working implementing and maintaining the Electrical distribution systems above and below ground.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out preventative maintenance on tunnelling plant and equipment
  • Carrying out unplanned maintenance and repairs on tunnelling plant and equipment
  • Undertake installation of tunnelling electrical services
  • HV Switching and Testing
  • Provide on-going surface installations as and when required.

What we’re looking for:

  • JIB Gold Card
  • TBM/Tunnelling experience
  • HV experience
  • Tunnel safety card or safety training
  • Ideally a first aider

Group Financial Controller

Full-Time, Permanent (Chelmsford)

£65,000 – £75,000 per annum + car allowance

Due to continued growth we are currently recruiting for a Group Financial Controller to join our Finance Team. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position will be responsible for the timely production of the monthly management accounts, manage the cash flow forecasting and assist with implementing continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance team.

The position:

  • Training and mentoring the finance departmental staff and managing their day-to-day workload
  • Timely and accurate management account reporting
  • Producing the main trading companies and the consolidated monthly accounts
  • Produce weekly cash flow forecast and management review
  • Adherence to HMRC reporting and deadlines
  • Preparation of the year-end audit files and liaison with auditors
  • Debtor, creditor and WIP analysis
  • Work closely with the Commercial Finance Controller including project work
  • There will be the ad-hoc requirement to work from our London office

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience working in a contracting business
  • Ideally had experience with a Private Equity backed companies and turnaround
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven and demonstrable line management experience
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Qualified accountant, such as ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
  • Demonstrable application of existing skilled experience to improve business processes

Group Management Accountant (Part-Qualified)

Full-time, permanent (Chelmsford)

£36,000 – £43,000 per annum

This is a key position within our finance team, to assist in the delivery of timely and accurate financial information. This position will give exposure to all functions within finance and with coaching from the Finance Leadership team, will support you to reach fully qualified status with development opportunities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Posting of month end journals
  • Production of the management accounts
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • VAT, CIS and CITB return submissions
  • Production of accurate cashflows
  • Assist with the annual year-end audit
  • Assist with the production of year-end statutory accounts
  • Improvement of existing processes and procedures

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong Excel skills and adept with other MS Office programmes
  • Strong understanding of debits and credits
  • Part Qualified (CIMA/ACCA), with final papers approaching
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to spot opportunities to improve processes
  • Two years experience within a finance function
